The FiXiT Foundation is a charity for animals with a mission to end overpopulation of companion animals. The problem they exist to solve is that of unnecessary animal euthanization. In the U.S., over 4 million dogs and cats have been euthanized every year for the past decade. Though this number is less than what it was 20 years ago, due to increased availability of spay and neuter programs, the number is no longer decreasing.
This unique animal charity exists to decrease the number of cats and dogs euthanized every year. To do so, they seek to produce solutions to bring spay/neuter options to everyone. To achieve it’s goal, FiXiT Foundation is developing a system to support and promote incentive-based spay/neuter programs and produce solutions to bring spay/neuter to everyone. Part of this involves programs that provide reduces cost procedures.
There are many charities for animals. FiXiT is uniquely focused on decreasing the euthanization of companion animals. The need is great for both cats and dogs for different reasons. Cats are killed more than dogs at a ratio of 3:2. The majority of them are feral cats that cannot be handled by humans.
With dogs, the problem is breed-specific. Pit Bulls make up over half of the number of dogs euthanized every year. If you’re researching animal charities worthy of your support, FiXiT Foundation is a well organized organization with a very specific goal. Your help in ending the senseless deaths of millions of cats and dogs will go far.
